This is my favourite quote. I think that the scars which mark us both mentally and physically are not signs of weakness but signs of strength. They remind us of the things that we have survived. Things probably worse than what is happening now.
I also believe that in order to appreciate the light you have to be exposed to the darkness. You can not appreciate happiness unless you have been sad. I guess that its all about the Yin and Yang. LIfe is in many ways a balancing act and this quote helps me understand why there has to be bad times.
